Foreign Permit Conversion

You have a non Republic of Ireland UAS or drone permit/certificate and you would like to apply for an Irish equivalent. We can give you credit for your current foreign permit allowing you take a shortened course. You course includes the following;

1. Online Theory Conversion Course.
2. Operations Manual Review.
3. IAA Flight Assessment. 

On completion of all elements, Safe Drone Academy will sign your  paperwork and recommend you to the Irish Aviation Authority for the award of your operator Specific Operations Permit (SOP) and your personal Pilot Competency Certificate (PCC).

Specific Operations Permit (SOP)

The SOP is an operator permit. This is the 'permission' from the Irish Aviation Authority, required by an operator, to conduct UAS or drone operations in Ireland. The 'permissions' allowed by the aviation authority are those approved procedures documented in an operators Operations Manual.  


Pilot Competncy Certificate (PCC)

 The PCC is proof of pilot competency. An SOP holder must use a pilot with a PCC when they wish to fly inaccordance with their approved 'permissions'.
